Indian Institute of Management Lucknow Admission Notification 2013-2014 : Invites applications from scholars interested in admission to the Doctoral Programme Executive Fellow Programme in Management (Doctoral Programme for Working Executives)

Specialization : Business Environment, Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, General Management

Eligibility Criteria : The candidates for the programme should have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE

  • A Masters’ degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks or;
  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average or;
  • Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks
  • At least seven years of executive/managerial/academic experience in the relevant area as on 30th June 2014
  • For engineering graduates the executive/managerial/ teaching experience should be eight years
  • In addition, all the candidates should have secured a minimum of 55 % marks in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level

Age limit : Candidates must not be more than 55 years of age as on 30th June 2014

Selection Procedure : Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria stated above are required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs

Alternatively, those who have qualified GRE/ GATE/ GMAT/ JRF-NET (UGC/CSIR) and WMP Test examinations (written test conducted by IIM Lucknow, Noida Campus for its WMP Programme, sometimes during First/Second week of April 2014) are also eligible to apply

Scores of any one of these examinations including CAT taken during the last two years (i.e., on or after 01st April, 2012) will be considered valid

Candidates who have already obtained a PGDM/IPMX/WMP programme from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 5.0 on a 10 point scale are exempted from this requirement, and can apply directly through the prescribed application form. Such applicants are also eligible to get a waiver of course work and exempted from mandatory course work which are offered in first year program of Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM programme)

The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above will be called to Lucknow for a special test and personal interview for final selection in May-2014 and the successful candidates will receive offers by mid-June-2014

Reservation : Reservation for eligible categories will be as per Govt. of India rules applicable for doctoral programme at the time of admission

Course Duration : Students are expected to complete the programme in four years

  • However, under special circumstances extension of two more years may be granted
  • The students spent their first two years for course work and the last two years for research and thesis preparation
  • EFPM is a part-time non-residential programme

While deciding the merit the marks obtained in English will not be taken into consideration
Provided that the student has passed in all the subjects separately required for purpose of admission to BAMS course

  • The candidate who has passed Sanskrit as a subject at the qualifying examination will be exempted from taking Sanskrit in 1st Professional BAMS course
  • For admission to the above courses he/she should has passed Hindi as one of the subjects at qualifying examination or High School/Matriculation/Secondary examination or equivalent

Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat (BUMS) : The candidates seeking admission to BUMS course must have passed Intermediate/Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) (12 year course)/Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years course) or any other equivalent recognised examination thereto with 50% or more marks in the aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and has also passed one language except SUPW from the recognised school conducting regular classes (except Patrachar Vidhyalaya and Open School) situated within the NCT of Delhi only

  • While deciding the merit the marks obtained in the English or language will not be taken into consideration

  • For admission to above course he/she must has passed Urdu and English as a subject either at the qualifying examination or High School/Matriculation/Secondary examination or equivalent
  • All the admitted candidates in BUMS course are required to submit a certificate that he/she has passed 8th class examination with Hindi

Maharashtra State Teacher Council of Exam Entrance Test Notification 2013-2014 : National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi has laid down norms for Teacher Eligibility Test for each state. The Maharashtra State Council of Examinations, Pune has been entrusted to act as the Nodal Agency and conduct TET for ensuring selection of competent candidates for Teaching Jobs in schools at two basic standards of education (i.e. Class-I to Class-V and Class-VI to Class-VIII).

Eligibility for Teachers of Class I to V : Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in Higher Secondary Education along with 2 years DTED program / OR / Should have completed Higher Secondary education with 45% marks as per NCERT norms along with completion of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education / OR / should have completed Higher Secondary education with at least 50% marks along with completion of 4 years course in Bachelor of Elementary Education / OR / should have completed any equivalent education.

Eligibility for Teachers of Class VI to VIII : Candidates should have secured a University Degree along with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education / OR / Should have completed Degree education with 45% marks along with completion of 1 year Bachelor of Education / OR / should have completed Higher Secondary education with at least 50% marks along with completion of 4 years course in Bachelor of Elementary Education / OR / should have completed Higher Secondary education with at least 50% marks along with completion of 4 years course in BA/BScEd Or, BAEd/ BScEd / OR / should have completed any equivalent education.

Age Limit : No upper age limit

Number of Attempts

  • Candidates are free to apply as many times as they want.
  • No such restrictions imposed.

Application Fees 

  1. Open, OBC, SBC and VJNT Category : Rs.500 (for any one paper) and Rs.800 (for both papers);
  2. SC/ST/PH/VH Category : Rs.250 (for any one paper) and Rs.400 (for both papers)
  • A person who has qualified TET may also appear again for improving his/her score.
  • The application fees can only be paid in shape of a Bank Challan, in any branch of State Bank of India, which can be downloaded from the website http://mahatet.in/
  • Fee submitted through any other mode like Money Order, Demand Draft, IPO etc. will be summarily rejected.

Exam Structure : There will be two papers of the Teacher Eligibility Test.

  • Paper I: For a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V
  • Paper II: For a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII

Note : Any person who intends to be a teacher either for classes I to V or for classes VI to VIII will have to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Validity & Number Attempts

  • The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificate is seven years for all categories form the date of award of certificate.
  • There will be no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a TET Certificate.

NCCS Pune PHd Joint Graduate Entrance Examination Notification 2013-2014 : The candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens, having consistently good academic record with strong motivation to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D. degree and with eligibility mentioned below should apply for the same

Eligibility Criteria : Candidates should have postgraduate degree in any branch of Science having at least 50% or equivalent grade point average (GPA)

  • Holds a valid Junior Research Fellowship from CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE/BINC and Fellowship should be valid as on the date of joining
  • Candidates who have qualified only for Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET) and the “Project List of ICMR” are not eligible
  • Other terms and conditions of the fellowship will be as directed by the agency awarding the fellowship
  • The upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/PH and 3 years in case of OBC candidates

Admission Process : Students with only post graduate degree and having valid fellowship from CSIR/DBT/ICMR/UGC/DST-Inspire/BINC are eligible to apply. All eligible students interested in joining NCCS also need to appear for the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Science (JGEEBILS) being conducted by TIFR/NCBS on 08th December 2013 (Sunday) at various centers all over India

The forthcoming state entrance exam (Maharashtra) for medical aspirants will follow the same pattern and syllabus for the now-defunct NEET.

Putting an end to all rumors and speculations surrounding the pattern and syllabus for the forthcoming edition of the Common Entrance Test (Maharashtra) for medical aspirants, the state government has announced that the exam will be conducted in the same line as the now defunct NEET.

The much awaited announcement came from none other but the state health education minister Vijaykumar Gavit himself.

“The decision was made by the state taking into consideration the effort put in by students in preparing for NEET,” said an official from the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER).

After this decision, it has now become clear that the medical aspirants preparing for the exam will also have to study the class 11 and 12 syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Despite the fact that the decision taken by the administration has put an end to the cloud of uncertainties plaguing their mind, many students are of the opinion that the decision has come too late.

Meanwhile, the state health education ministry also announced that the candidates appearing in the next edition of MH-CET will now have the option to write their answers in both English as well as Marathi.

The state CET, from this year on, will carry 720 marks (180 questions carrying four marks each). However, the weightage for the individual subjects are yet to be determined.

Johns Hopkins and Institute of Health Management Research for Public Health Admission Notification 2013-2014 : The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) will offer its Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program in Jaipur, India, in cooperation with the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR)

Management Public Health Program : The full-time Master of Public Health degree program will consist of 1 year of didactic coursework plus 1 year of practical training

  • Coursework includes onsite and online classes, a practicum experience and a capstone exercise, totaling 80 credits
  • Onsite courses will begin in June 2014 when students will travel to Baltimore, Maryland, for a Summer Institute at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
  • The curriculum aims to develop students’ competencies in the core areas:
  • Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health Sciences, Public Health Biology, Health Management and Functional, Management, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Public Policy, Ethics

Eligibility Criteria : The candidates interested in the MPH program should meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must possess a Bachelors degree
  • Should have taken prior courses in subjects such as mathematics and biology
  • English proficiency in written and verbal communication (Should have either taken TOEFL* or had studied in college with English as primary language (TOEFL may be waived)

Standardized Test Scores : Official scores from one of the following tests are required of all MPH applicants: GRE/MCAT/GMAT, or LSAT *(The standardized test score may be waived for applicants possessing degrees beyond the baccalaureate level; however, quantitative skills must be demonstrated from the transcripts or prior professional work)

Desirable : A minimum of two years of full-time health-related work experience beyond the bachelor’s/master’s degree (unless the applicant has earned a doctoral degree, e.g. PhD or medical degree)

Admission Process : Regional applicants from surrounding low and middle-income countries first must contact the MPHcoordinator at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research by email at mph@iihmr.org and apply by sending the pre screening questionnaire and a recent CV/Resume for the pre screening of the applications

Following pre-screening, each eligible applicant will receive an email with a unique login ID and password that they will need to use to access and complete their personalized electronic application on the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health website www.mph.iihmr.org

Application Form : Applicants should submit the pre-screening questionnaire along with their recent CV/Resume and contact the MPH Coordinator at IIHMR at mph@iihmr.org

  • After the first shortlisting at IIHMR, the pre screened candidates will receive a mail for further course of action in the application process
  • Those candidates who are eligible to apply further for the program after pre screening at IIHMR, will receive a communication about the online application process and submission of supporting documents
